About Me

A life shaped by change

Having lived in 8 cities on 3 continents over a period of 30 years, I have experienced more than my fair share of change. It shaped how I understand belonging, resilience, and what it takes to begin again — and it is the reason I do this work.

My Story

I was born in New York City to a couple of young hippies who were not well-suited to the task of parenting. Fortunately, my grandparents adopted me, giving me the stable and happy childhood that my grandmother, who was twice displaced as a refugee in her teens, knew was so important. But growing up in a conventional and conformity-driven suburb also presented a challenge, particularly as an only child with parents a generation older than those of my peers: I often felt like I was standing on the outside looking in. This formative experience inspired a 30-year journey of exploring new horizons in an effort to understand what it means to truly belong.

My search for home led me to a wide variety of geographic and cultural landscapes, from New England to the Midwest, from New York to Southern California, and from Australia to Amsterdam. But throughout this whirlwind tour, my anchors have been steady: I have been married to my husband and best friend for 25 years, and together we raised two daughters who are now forging paths of their own. We have 2 horses, 2 cats, and a dog, and hope to add a couple of donkeys to the mix someday.

The culmination of a lifelong curiosity

My professional path has been a similarly rich adventure. I have taught preschool, worked as a nanny and a dogwalker, conducted research in maternal and child health, and founded a family development center. Each of these roles taught me something profound, not only about myself, but about human development, resilience, and the experiences, relationships, and systems that shape us. Today, my private practice as a coach-counsellor allows me to weave these threads together and utilize my understanding to support people in embracing change and reaching their full potential. I am profoundly grateful to my clients, whose courageous work to transform their lives has transformed mine too. If you are standing at a crossroads, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
